1. He’s still employed.

Suppose it is the year 11,000 BC climate scientists conclude that there is a high probability that the Earth will suddenly heat up causing a large portion of the ice to melt and sea levels to rise at least 100 meters. No efforts are spared and they manage eventually to stabilize the climate.
