1. He’s still employed.

Look at the bright side. We could be whispering to each other through broken teeth who is going next for interrogation by Comrade Mann, the People’s Kommissar for Scientific Security.
Suppose it is the year 11,000 BC climate scientists conclude that there is a high probability that the Earth will suddenly heat up causing a large portion of the ice to melt and sea levels to rise at least 100 meters. No efforts are spared and they manage eventually to stabilize the climate.
