Great lakes ice cover at 82.8% UP from about 75% a day or two ago. With cold temps could continue to end of March. Well above 1979 at same date. Average for date is 25%. Shipping scheduled to open 3/25, maybe. Truly unprecedented.
Very challenging spring conditions for the pros today, near 0 visibility, 36 kt wind, frost on the greens and fairways. Not to mention the -80 windchill. Conditions truly worthy of a major championship!
