You do not get ANY WHERE with trying to prosecute a crime unless the DA and judges agree. Think Heartland, Peter Gleick. and the federal crimes of wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
I had two semi-trucks and a reffer (trailer) stolen. I know who had the vehicles. I know who stole them. I had Prepass record proof they were driven all over the USA and TWO eye witnesses (one a cop) and STILL could not bring the case to court. It was “scheduled” for a pre-trial hearing once a month for FIVE years. The criminals were told to go home once they showed but I was stuck in court waiting the whole day.
One of the guys involved was a big donor to the Democrats. When the Repubs were voted in I got a big apology from the DA who was bewildered that the case had been stalled for so long. He was gung-ho to go forward and then all of a sudden a week later told me there was no case against these people! WTF!
Robbers connected to the drug lords in this area get a free pass. I have been robbed several times and know who was doing the stealing and got no where. The cops won’t even show up to document the crime.
The guy down the street, a forester, stumbled on to a M.J. plantation. After reporting it he had the cops pull him over and harass him every time he tried to drive in county. He finally went to the Feds. There was a big raid and several people arrested including a couple neighbors but all of them were ‘little fish’ and the county machine stayed intact.
Justice is a daydream for the idiots glued to the boob tube. Why in heck do you think there are so many “Law and Order’ type programs on TV? It is to foster the illusion that there is still the rule of law in the USA.
