The Times names Dr. Ahlmann as the source of information saying that he has been collecting evidence from a variety of sources: temperature records, glaciers, trees, fish, and cites him claiming that:” In the Scandinavian countries, the winters have been getting milder since the 19th Century, and that he “hopes the warm cycle will last for at least a few centuries.”

Since then it has emerged that there have been significant climate changes in human history. The Roman, Medieval and Current periods were all significantly warmer than the previous periods.
However. the last really big climate change was over 5,000 years ago. This was when a shift in weather systems changed the entire North of Africa from savannah into extreme desert. That resulted in many of the nomadic peoples clustering around the fertile Nile. Sometime later recorded history began.
