Military To Defend America With $50,000 Golf Carts

Obama needs to show a few sales of Chevy Volts, so has ordered the Pentagon to steal money from your children and buy lots of worthless, overpriced golf carts.

Electric vehicles are becoming a more common sight on military bases as the Department of Defense adds “road-capable” electric cars such as the Chevy Volt to a fleet of thousands of smaller battery-powered vehicles.

Last month, the first two Chevy Volts arrived at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., where they will be used as nontactical government vehicles. Eighteen Volts are about to hit the roads at Joint Base Andrews, Md., Marine Corps and Air Force officials said.

The moves are part of the Defense Department’s “green initiatives,” which seek to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign energy sources.

    Don’t blame Senator Blutarsky.

“A $600 million loss after subsidies: So after accounting for all the costs, and trying to err on the side of caution with estimates, the Chevy Volt would have cost GM shareholders $617 million, and U.S. taxpayers just under $1 billion. And with less generous but eminently plausible assumptions about the cost of capital, and sales volumes and margins, the loss to GM shareholders could easily top $1.5 billion.”

Also keep in mind GM is channel stuffing their car sales numbers. They have over 700,000 cars in inventory.
Also, the so called GM Volt sales are actually mostly leases.

GM is also losing market share again. Whoever is the next POTUS will have to deal with the “new” GM headed for bankruptcy again in a few years. GM was given special tax exempt status and when all is said and done, GM has not made one penny of profit; it is all propped up by funny money and cooked books.

For the taxpayer to break even, GM would need to sell their stock at $53. As I write this, it is $24.65.

Ah, the stench of Fascism in the morning……
