But it’s a new milder, GLO-BULL warming cold 😉
Its a shame that we are suffering from so much “warming.” Cold is the new “warm” a.k.a. “change.” Blame all the corporations. We hate corporations, especially corporations that supply heating oil, gas, and cars. Warming (change) in Michigan must be caused by car corporations. We better buy Asian cars to stop all that warming in Michigan. I’m so glad to understand the real reason its so (cold) warm in Michigan.
I was in high school in the ’70’s in Marquette and remember the winter well. I still have all the cold weather gear I acquired during that time …came in handy again this year in Wisconsin…
I live up in the UP. The city I live in set a new low record temp Friday 28th with minus 20 F. Prior low was minus 17 F. On my way to work, Friday morning, along I-75 my truck thermometer had minus 31 F in several places.
You obviously need to recalibrate that thermometer. The professionals can help you as they are good at doing that.
Yea, the Arctic is upside-down and drunk. At 10 p.m. on Jan. 26th, 2014, the temperature in Homer, Alaska of 54 F (12 C) was warmer than any other place in the contiguous United States except southern Florida and southern California.
Here’s a layout of the global temperature anomalies for February. Note that, accounting for distortions of a flat map, the Earth as a whole has been on the cool side, including Alaska.

GISS will amplify the Arctic and declare to be a hot month.
of course with these record colds….the LSM will be all over it !!!! NOT….
Sorry gang, Skiing’s still to become a thing of the past:

Wow! A lot of records broken from the winter of 78-79. Now remind me again around what year the AGW folks start looking for warming?
I also live in Upper Michigan. It is so strange to not have clouds and snow when the wind blows off Lake Superior…frozen Lake Superior. Outside of a breakup during the big storm late in February, the lake has been essentially ice covered since the beginning of February.
