The White House Run Media

News is out today that the IRS was targeting a Republican Senator for being a Republican. Probably the biggest presidential scandal in history.

CNN responds with lead stories about soccer and gay marriage. Did CNN ever care about soccer before?

CNN never cared about the news before. Why would anyone think they would start now?

This kind of unsubstantiated claim is why some skeptics get called conspiracy theorists. If you can’t back it up to show that 40% of the USHCN has stopped reporting, then don’t publish it.

I’d take it down right now if I were you before somebody sees it and calls you out on it.

    YOU NEED TO DO BETTER.

“40% of the USHCN” you can change for ‘100% of CNN’

      Business Insider:

Emails Reveal Former IRS Official At Center Of Scandal Suggested Targeting A Sitting GOP Senator For Audit

Former IRS official Lois Lerner suggested referring U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) for an audit in 2012, according to new emails released by the Republican-controlled House Ways and Means Committee on Wednesday.

Lerner headed the IRS division that processed applications for tax-exempt status. The agency caused a fury last year when it admitted it had targeted certain conservative and Tea Party-aligned groups for extra scrutiny when examining their applications. So far, investigators have not found any evidence that anyone outside the IRS was aware of the targeting or was involved in carrying it out….

The IRS has come under renewed scrutiny from congressional investigators in recent weeks. The new attention comes amid its admission two weeks ago that it lost two years’ worth of emails from Lerner, who was the key official at the center of a congressional probe relating to the agency’s targeting of conservative groups’ tax-exempt status.

Lerner was the official who first admitted the agency’s conduct. She left the IRS last year amid the resulting firestorm. However, she has refused to testify, invoking her constitutional right against self-incrimination multiple times when subpoenaed before congressional hearings. In May, she was held in contempt of Congress.

Rep. Dave Camp (R-Michigan), the chair of the Ways and Means Committee, called the new emails “shocking.”….

And somehow this is NOT major news???

        Oh how times have changed:

Richard Nixon Events Leading to Impeachment:

        Article 2: Abuse of Power.

Using the powers of the office of President of the United States, Richard M. Nixon, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in disregard of his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has repeatedly engaged in conduct violating the constitutional rights of citizens, imparting the due and proper administration of justice and the conduct of lawful inquiries, or contravening the laws governing agencies of the executive branch and the purposes of these agencies.
This conduct has included one or more of the following:

        (1) He has, acting personally and through his subordinated and agents, endeavored to obtain from the Internal Revenue Service, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, confidential information contained in income tax returns for purposes not authorized by law, and to cause, in violation of the constitutional rights of citizens, income tax audits or other income tax investigation to be initiated or conducted in a discriminatory manner.

        (2) He misused the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Secret Service, and other executive personnel, in violation or disregard of the constitutional rights of citizens, by directing or authorizing such agencies or personnel to conduct or continue electronic surveillance or other investigations for purposes unrelated to national security, the enforcement of laws, or any other lawful function of his office; he did direct, authorize, or permit the use of information obtained thereby for purposes unrelated to national security, the enforcement of laws, or any other lawful function of his office; and he did direct the concealment of certain records made by the Federal Bureau of Investigation of electronic surveillance.

        (3) He has, acting personally and through his subordinates and agents, in violation or disregard of the constitutional rights of citizens, authorized and permitted to be maintained a secret investigative unit within the office of the President, financed in part with money derived from campaign contributions to him, which unlawfully utilized the resources of the Central Intelligence Agency, engaged in covert and unlawful activities, and attempted to prejudice the constitutional right of an accused to a fair trial.

        (4) He has failed to take care that the laws were faithfully executed by failing to act when he knew or had reason to know that his close subordinates endeavored to impede and frustrate lawful inquiries by duly constituted executive; judicial and legislative entities….

GEE, are they writing of Nixon or are they writing about Obummer?

You don’t sound enamored about the IRS. This is the same organization that will be over seeing health care ‘taxes’ and reviewing your health care records as well? I don’t see a conflict for any potential opportunities for additional misuse of confidential data or records, the IRS at this point in time has broken just about every ‘rule’ put in place to safe guard your info placed in their possession …

I suppose this is one of those things we will have to just roll over and accept, along with fabricated station temperature records and continual ‘adjustments’ to data which seem to lack tangible, realistic connection to ‘physical’ reality …

  5. Talking about the news media did anyone notice that Justices Breyer, Roberts, Kennedy, Ginsburg, Sotomayor and Kagan were in the majority on the Aereo opinion, while Justices Scalia, Thomas and Alito dissented.
The majority of the court agreed with CBS, FOX, ABC, and NBC that Aereo — which takes freely available over-the-air signals and transmits them over the Internet to paying users is indeed publicly performing the networks’ copyrighted content.
Guess who are the big business judges and do not care about the constitution. Notice the word “freely”

Sounds like you have constructed a ‘bridge too far’ in your conclusion. But, if you have an agenda, please say so. It cuts down the amount of time dancing around the periphery of the dance floor instead of heading out directly under the ‘Disco Ball’.

Did you read the minority opinion on this?

      Let’s dance …

    • _Jim says:

If anybody else is interested (because ketchem has seemingly no further interest in this subject, but I could be wrong), the opinion of the minority (dissenting) justices in this case can be found on page 23:
