Nero Got A Bad Rap

Historians have recently learned that Emperor Nero was simply creating “space to destroy.” His judgment by history has lacked sensitivity. He was a victim of micro-aggression by right wing historians.

Too much CO2 destroyed Rome! 🙂

  2. gator69 says:

It was those racist Vigiles Urbani, oppressing the Moors, who caused all of Nero’s problems.

  3. emsnews says:

Yeah, Virgil was annoying with all those tropes about Aeneas. 🙂

  4. emsnews says:

Virgil also killed off Dido…Nero, on the other hand, killed mainly Romans. Which is even funnier, actually.

  5. vuurklip says:

Imagine if Nero ruled today! Rome would be HOT and Francis would be justified!

  6. MrX says:

Oh man! Don’t give them ideas. Libs will not hesitate to rewrite the history books.

  7. Pathway says:

Libs have been writing the history of America for a long time. They think that the fascist Wilson was one of our greatest presidents.

  8. AndyG55 says:

Gees, I did know Nero was into rap. 🙂

  9. nigelf says:

Now don’t be too quick here, the very next day Nero denied ever having said that…

What is the comparison between Rome temps then and now?

    • darrylb says:

      Anthony,

The Roman period done by the Mannian proxy method, much cooler.
All other methods, by proxy, by historical records of events, by
geological investigations, and a plethora of incidentals.
      have shown the following:

A Roman warm period hundreds of years long about two thousand years ago,
A medieval warm period also hundreds of years long about one thousand years ago
After that, a Little ice age causing famine, wars, disease and more, and now, many of us are speculating that we have had a
beneficial period of warmth, which may be in the initial stages of decline.

Then, of course, there are those who choose to be scientifically challenged, finding diminutive bits of observations, chiseled from the wealth of information, of which the extrapolation of the bits show climate terror on the horizon.

From a distance, the whole show is quite amazing, and illustrates the pathetic nature
      of humanity.

Also, from a casual viewpoint, I had some kind of a lose ideology of warming based upon those poor polar children, er ah make that polar bears and declining Arctic ice. I suspect, that is where many folks are. Fortunately, my daughter, who I taught, and who has degrees in biology and environmental sciences challenged me and in due time set me straight.

Indeed. Taking into consideration their chemical excuse for meandering into fantasyland, the participants of the Acid Tests suddenly appear normal when compared to today’s freak show. And what does the future hold….

The early Christians were primarily Jewish arsonists bent on destroying Rome. They were the Bolsheviks of their day.
