We’re still in a period of solar maximum, although the maximum of cycle 24 is starting to decline, but 2015 will be much more interesting! 🙂
The article says this is Tomso Norway. According to this site, they have 24 hours of daylight there at this time of year:

First time ever snow in June, hey, that’s just weather. Now a record high temperature, that definitely would be climate change. /sarc
No, NOT “only in Norway.” I had snow here in Oregon last week at Santiam Pass (only about 5,000 feet above sea level).
Looks like they are having a nice spell of summer sunshine at the moment.
Being so close to the Arctic they can be affected by changes in wind direction , get a northerly and it will be cold and snow. Who would have thunk it … so not surprised why Thor ( Thaw ? … ho ho ) thought it unusual.
