Dear UCLA Hammer Forum officials,
There is no significant man-made global warming at this time, there has been none in the past and there is no reason to fear any in the future. Efforts to prove the theory that carbon dioxide is a significant “greenhouse” gas and pollutant causing significant warming or weather effects have failed. There has been no warming over 18 years. William Happer, Ph.D., Princeton University, Richard Lindzen, Ph.D., Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Willie Soon, Ph.D., Harvard Smithsonian Observatory, John Christy, Ph.D., University of Alabama and 9,000 other Ph.D. scientists all agree with my opening two sentences. Yet at your October 23 Hammer Forum on Climate Change you have scheduled as your only speakers two people who continue to present the failed science as though it is the final and complete story on global warming/climate change. This is major mistake.
I urge you to re-examine your plan. It is important to have those who attend know that there is no climate crisis. The ocean is not rising significantly. The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number. Heat waves have actually diminished, not increased. There is not an uptick in the number or strength of storms (in fact storms are diminishing). I have studied this topic seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid.
I am the founder of The Weather Channel and a winner of the American Meteorological Society honor as Broadcast Meteorologist of the Year. I am not a wacko flat Earther. Nor am I a “paid shill” (as has been claimed) of the Koch Brothers. I am a serious Professional. I am strongly urging you to reconsider your plan.

It would be nice if the officials of the UCLA Hammer Forum would take up each issue brought up by John Coleman and investigate if it is true and how significant it is to the theory of AGW. But they won’t. They have the mindset of a bunch of bigots and are totally convinced of their position.
Climate Liars don’t give a damn about truth or reality. They are scum. Just like the scum that imposed Fascism on Germany in the 1930s and just like the scum that imposed Communism on Russia during the 1920s.
If skeptics were truly “deniers of science” or “flat-earthers” there would be no problem in inviting them along. The proper scientists would invite people to compare and contrast the arguments. It would be a good way to promote the achievements of climate science, and the show the intellectual gulf between them and the skeptics. But they know that in any encounter where there is a level playing field they will lose.
I think the “denier” thing comes from a political background. It has absolutely nothing to do with science.
With all due respect to posters, calling people “liars” “scum” and “bigots” will not win this debate. Clearly, forcefully, and accurately presenting the facts will. Let’s not use the ad hominem attacks to make the case. Let’s support the scientists like those mentioned in the article.
I don’t see any indication that these people have any interest in debate. They know that they are crooks.
The facts you present on a daily basis are doing a lot to win this debate (which will have to be won in the public) if it is going to be won at all.
Definition of a “bigot”: a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices What better word describes the alarmists?

SMS: The language you choose to use vastly impacts the outcome of any argument. This is basic rhetoric, which I’m sure you understand. I’m also sure you understand that if the goal is truly reaching out to people, changing the way they think, and improving minds for the future, ad hominem slandering–regardless of its accuracy–will not make anyone want to listen to you. Even if you’re absolutely right about everything, which you no doubt are, no one will respect you or your voice if you fail to meet them on the grounds of basic human decency.
If the goal is only to lash out angrily at people whose minds you know you can’t control, then I advise you to re-evaluate your values.

Worth looking on Snopes how their careful and sneaky wording is used as a put down of Coleman. Unlike other issues such as wacky email claiming martians have landed and so on where Snopes simply provides evidence to the contrary, the section on Coleman is more expertly constructed and carefully referenced with appropriate anti-Coleman articles.
In short it is a hit job on Coleman.
The subtext is clear: Coleman was TV man who earlier in his career had some small involvement as a weatherman, but his weather expertise never kept up. And now, in fact he is retired. Here again there is a slight implication that – well – he is getting old.
Sad when even self proclaiming impartial fact checkers of Internet and email weirdness so clearly have a partisan agenda.

Your message that Hans cannot change the weather at all via CO2 is one I have proven to myself. I have explained why this is true, and why we are actually already proceeding in a little ice age. The truth about the stabilizing effect of the classic water cycle needs to be repeated. I think I have a complete macro model with graphics. I have posted it on my blog at Paullitely.com. I would like your opinion. I also posted links there to graphs of the manipulations of temp data series by all the “authorities” NASA GISS UK HadCRUT US NCDC Australia MET. Wow, and now, even the “father” of CO2 Globalwarming Climatechange. Now goes back to “we could be wrong, but we should do these renewables anyway”. Wow, justified are they?
Earth Just Had Its Hottest September On Record
Last month was the warmest September the globe has experienced since record-keeping began in 1880, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Researchers from NOAA’s National Climatic Data Center found that the Earth’s average global land and ocean surface temperature temperature in September was 60.30°F, which is 1.30°F warmer than the 20th century average.

Typical responses. When shown that this warming of earth is cyclical and mankind has nothing to do with it, the global warming believers get very upset when you show their church dogma is failed science. Not one of them can explain why according to the UN Commission on Climate Change and NOAA and NASA, the earth has not warmed even one degree in over 18 years. Not one of them can explain why there is more arctic ice now then ever before. Not one of them can explain why according to the World Wildlife Foundation, there are far more polar bears now then ever before. Not one can explain why or how the last ice age suddenly stopped and reversed itself when mankind was nowhere to be found. What made it stop then? Dino farts?? And not one can explain why in the summer of 1813, it was so cold that the Boston harbor was froze solid up to 1 mile from shore and people had to skate out to the ships to unload them. It was called the year without summer.
Seems we know who is lying, and it is the people who worship at the alter of the Church of Climate Change. For example, Obama demands laws to stop this, yet he has increased his carbon footprint to almost three times what developing nations have. Or Al Gore, who is the Pope of Climate Change, who according to the Tenn Valley Authority, uses more electricity and gives back more so called “global warming” gasses then most of the towns in Western Tenn. And lets not forget the biggest liar of them all, Michael Moore. The same guy who not only lied about where he was born (he was born and raised in Davison Michigan, 30 miles from Flint, NOT in Flint as he has tried to claim) but has a mansion close to Davison which has all the wood in it made from Redwood trees! An old growth forest tree.
These members of the church of global warming should be silenced once and for all before they damage the economy and throw us into a depression that would make the one in the early 20th century look like a walk in the park.
