The city of Morehead, Minn., had the dubious distinction as the hottest place on Earth for a day, said meteorologist Heidi Cullen of Climate Central, in an interview on National Public Radio. On July 19, the heat index there — a measure of humidity and temperature that indicates how hot the weather feels — was 134 F (56.7 C). (The National Weather Service later said this reading could be an anomaly due to the local weather station’s location in a very wet field, and not representative of the entire town.)
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!!! Yes, some place in Minnesota had a heat index of 134……. Do Heidi have any concept of geography? Would she wonder how a town in Minnesota could have a higher heat index than a town in Georgia or Alabama?
Quick!!! Heidi!!! Over here!!! I’ve got a pot of boiling water, take a heat index reading!!!!
Oh my look at the global warming! That MN rice field has palm trees growing on the banks. Maybe its time I move back to my home state!
At 134 degrees temperatures are unbearable. Stay in the south.
Note to “AmazingPlanet Staff”. it is spelled Moorhead (not Morehead).
Had the “AmazingPlanet Staff” vetted the facts they would have:
1. found that the 134 cannot be correct for a northern tier state
2. had the name of the city correct.
who knows what else is incorrect. Facts get such a bad rap…nobody wants them, nobody cares… I’m would not be surprised if “facts” suffer from depression.
Reminds me when the when the Detroit Lakes, MN weather station was found sitting next to a commercial building’s air conditioner unit several years ago. Probably should have thrown out out years of data… bet they didn’t.
Sorry about the multiple posts… here is a link to the Detroit Lakes station.

I’m pretty sure that Real Scientists® would point out that air-conditioners make cold air, not hot, so James Hansen will need to adjust those numbers upwards. 😉
Heidi’s a genius!
Why would it be a “dubious distinction?” It is just a bit of random trivial information with no real climatic significance, but, of course, the warmist are delighted by the propaganda potential.
I seriously doubt that we have global heat index information. I would imagine that someplace in the thick of the ‘floresta’ in Amazonas Brasil (near the equator) may have out performed some location in MN on that given day.
Hot weather is climate.
Didn’t the murderer in “The Big Lebowski” become a murderer because she had to spend a winter in Moorhead, MN?
Another goodie from M4GW
Oh… that’s not good . I been here since ’75 …
The heat index chart shows no temperature of 134 F for situation of 82 F dew and temperture of 105 F and below.
Only two places 134 shows up that I could find: relative humidity of 75% and temp of 97 F or relative humidity of 55% and temp of 103 F.
BTW, that’s Moorhead, Minnesota .. I lived across the river in Fargo, North Dakota, for 25 years and am familiar with the proper spelling.
Sorry ’bout that. You must be tired of the movie references I imagine.
LOL,
Now it is the HEAT INDEX.The new obsession.
Anything to milk a heat wave. You know,WEATHER and not climate…..
