Never mind the record cold and snow in Yellowstone, models say it is getting hot and dry there. Did the author not notice the snow in the picture?
Below is a Yellowstone fire from 110 years ago which would have required “all the men in Wyoming and Montana to put out.” This massive fire occurred three weeks before the deadliest hurricane in US history.
One of my most favorite places on Earth. I was there in 1989, right after the fires and was relieved to see the media had overhyped the damage. Last time I was there I had numerous too close for comfort wildlife experiences, just the way I like them. But one of the most memorable was having one of those bison trotting next to my truck, at eye level, looking at me from 18 inches away with that ENORMOUS eye.
With all the idiot tourists running around there, you are bound to have more fires regardless of the climate.
Visited recently, and was appalled at the density of trees right next to the highway (or many areas right in the region for that matter). When the greens prevent every attempt at forest management along with an any fire is bad policy, it’s bound to have consequences of disastrous mega fires. The idiocy of the tree hugger crowd has few boundaries.
Models are crap, GIGO. Wild fires have happened through out time, they will happen when and were they want, weather in a little ice age or the medevil or roman warm periods much less now. From the carelessness of a camper, arsonist or mother nature herself with lightning. This article is nothing more than a look at what i can do ma, CRAP
Odd having that photo of a bison – if that is supposed to be scary? – as they would do better if more forest was burned off there.

The frequency and severity of forest fires is limited on the upside by the available amount of wood. Just sayin’
