They put the fees up 97% this year because the word got out there was a drought in Greenland and people weren’t renewing their annual membership. Ever since its just been downhill skiing so to speak. Sad to see it in such bad shape.
I hope it gets above zero for more than a thirteenth of a second this year, to make life a life more cheerful for the residents there.

A championship course of that caliber should not be allowed to fall into such a state of disrepair. But if this year is anything like last year, 97% of the Icecap wil be melted by July 15th and the course will be open for business.
Just wait. Once the U.S. Open frenzy dies down, you’ll start to see those busloads of tourists up there, just like in the old days. The place has a long, proud history, you know. (I think Amundsen, or Scott–certainly one of the polar pros–designed the course.)
They are even more screwed if the fuel pit gets buried.
