    I’m drinking a low-fat, low-sodium, trans-fat free beer in honour of our lovely First Lady. I hope she has a lovely Independence Day as well, & with a bit of therapy she’ll stop ripping people’s arms out of their sockets when she loses any day now.

    Would you believe I killed one of them today (the Black Widow *Spider*). At least I think I did. Spotted one in an old shed, and instead of smashing it I got the mega-insecticide and doused it. I’ll look for the body in a couple of days to confirm (after a few stiff drinks too).

    These things are pretty tiny, and it looks almost exactly the same as the Brown Recluse but for color.
