“A global warming rate of about 1.8 degrees Fahrenheit (1 degree Celsius) per decade will be enough to destabilize the compost if the peat is insulated from the atmosphere by dry moss or lichen, according to Sebastian Wieczorek, a mathematician at the University of Exeter in England.”

1 degree PER DECADE is needed to make it possible according to these boys.

Unfortunately it has not been even close to that rate in the real world. The total warming since the mid 1850’s is around 1 degree C.

Another dead on arrival research it appears.

Hi there sunsettommy, may I ask where you got the 1C warming since 1850? When I look at the HADCrut3v data, I get .75C and this doesn’t factor in the +.12 upward bias in the HADSST2 data since 1997 when they merged ICOADS data and NCEP-GTS data without accounting for discrepancies between them. Am I looking at it the wrong way? TIA

I have no problem with you using the .75C since the 1850’s number.

I was using the 1 degree C number because they were using that number as well. But they were using as PER DECADE and I was using that number for the last 150+ years combined warming trend.

Sorry I meant to post my graph showing a .75C increase in global temps since 1850 so you could see what I was basing my comment on.

Why don’t these idiots kill themselves and it over with.
I never ever heard such a crap in my life.

they are getting more and more ridiculous!

too bad we are paying for them to sit around playing with their computers and come up with all this crap

Do they forget the biosphere grows at the fastest rate allowed by the circumstances in a region. Increased nutrients will result in increased biotic growth, both flora and fauna! The biosphere lives on the verge of collapse all the time. Birds are limited by the number of bugs that are available for them to eat. These people need to learn to think about the BIG picture!
