Here’s what I don’t get: they want to blame the (potentially) bad winter coming, on lack of ice in the Arctic… so what was causing those extremely cold winters in the late 70s (when I was in college), and Arctic ice was then at it’s highest ‘on record’?
Stockholm residents enjoy six ‘summer’ days in 2012
According to the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI), the Swedish capital only experienced six days in which temperatures exceeded 25 degrees Celsius between 1 June and 19 August. The figure marks a significant cool down from the 28 days of summer seen during the same period last year.

Meteorologists attribute the particularly cool summer to wet conditions as well as a heat wave in the Mediterranean and southern European region over much of the season.

Basically you are saying; But now Climate Change aka Man Made Global Warming is melting the ice cap and changing the weather patterns creating the same “huge storms” that is attributable to breaking up the Ice pack in the first place.
I’d bet that you’d also say; Before AGW it was too cold for it to snow in Iceland early in September.
These huge unnatural freakish storms (somewhere) “in the north” sound scary.
I think this may be the year that the chickens come home to roost ’cause it’s too darn cold in the northern hemisphere.
