We had a temperature spike in the 1930’s and another one in the 1990’s. Aside from that there has been no warming.
You certainly can’t equate todays thinking with the thinking of the men in the above article . Note the statement from the scientific minded men of the past . ” Unless the ice loss noted was offset by ice increase in another less explored area of the Antarctic” . Today as soon as they see anything they immediately begin screaming catastrophic anthropogenic global warming without considering what the real implications are .

It’s a strangely consistent coincidence. That seems to happen every time I’ve kept my eye on the data which began circa 2007. But correlation is not causation… 😉
