This is what happens when a politician insulates himself by surrounding himself with progressive pseudo itellectuals who have gotten it wrong their entire career like John Holdren but massage the presidents ego. Obama is like a bad model suffering from GIGO. He lacks pragmatic judgement, doesn’t seek contrarian views, fears damage to his image all of which immobilizes him from making good decisions or any decisiom. Look how he recoiled from a total beat down on his budget proposal. He tucks tail and runs rather than re-engaging. If people bould tume out his pretty rhetoric and judge him on his actions and lack thereof, they would better recognize his lack of leadership skill.
Jim Collins is an expert on leadership (best book on the subject I ever read) and his research provides the characteristics of level 5 leadership skillset needed to be an exceptional leader. Obama is your typical egocentric type who’s ambition is guided towards himself rather than towards doing the job for the United Sates. He was treated like a rock star by the press and that is how he sees himself too which results in leadership skills of a rock star which are “it’s all about me”.
