We keep hearing from leading experts that spring snow cover is on the decline. The graph above plots week 13 (the most recent published) since the start of records in 1968.

What is clear is that there was a sharp decline in year-over-year variability after 1990, and that spring snow cover has generally been increasing over the last 20 years.
