For Bill McKibben

Bill told me the other day that droughts and floods happen more frequently now due to global warming. That idea is not supported by the historical record.

Australia had drought, flood or both during almost every year from 1789 to 1864.

What’s their excuse for ignoring all this? Is it because the ‘Empire’ is not a peer reviewed newspaper?

  2. For examples, flooding has zero correlation with CO2 but does correlate with SOI. This is not even controversial. The relationship has been known in the scientific community for decades. It’s a little disturbing when decades of well established science gets ignored because it doesn’t fit into a particular narrative.

From that table of droughts and floods it sure looks like Australia could use some (more) dams and reservoirs…

Bill is likely a denier that the 1800s ever existed. Lefty alarmist are taught that the world began in 1970. 😉

Sounds like Texas only the opposite of El Nino/ La Nina effect. Texas wants El Nino. Australia wants La Nina…
