That was a JOKE! Right?
Hathaway stuck to projections of an intense cycle for solar cycle 24 for quite a while, but eventually he stopped just moving the date of the peak, and changed the expected value down to low levels that many foresaw. I read an article where he admitted that he was wrong in his earlier projection. He, unlike others in government agencies will remain nameless, was willing to change in the face of evidence (though I was dissapointed by some of the dust specks on the lens or burnt out pixels that they were calling sunspots, but that is another rant).
This sun conveyor belt at record speed, that I hadn’t see before. He should know better that to release research under his name with one set of conclusions, then four years later release a second set with opposite conclusions.
I thot he learned he lesson…Guess not.
There are obviously too many scientists with too much idle time on their hands, deperately trying to make themselves seem important.
