Hansen is spot on correct. Blue is for boys, pink is for girls. It’s all blue on the chart 🙂
Since the rule of thumb for ENSO is it takes 9 months for what is happening with ENSO to show up in land temperatures there is no chance for an El Nino, even if it were to explode into being at this moment, to have an effect on temperature before the end of the year. The gif shows la Nina will be affecting temps until the beginning of next year, 9 months from now. And the La Nina is still in progress.
