What I usually hear from Warmist regarding extreme temperatures from the 30’s et al is that it was not a global phenomenon. Maybe they won’t dare try that schtick with Mr. Goddard.
Sure the 30s was mainly a northern hemisphere phenomena.
But then, so is the recent warming (they just try to hide that fact).
