        True – and if Gore had – there would have been no FLA 2k. McGovern winning his would have been just a footnote, not a game changer.

        And I shudder to think what the response would have been to 9/11. If what happened is not providence, then I am at a loss for another example.

    Don’t forget, Mondale also swept DC! Mondale was not that bad a bad candidate, he just ran into a buzz saw.
