Carter Adminstration Encouraged Osama

Zbigniew Brzezinski with Osama in 1979.

We know of their deep belief in God, and we are confident their struggle will succeed. That land over there is yours, you’ll go back to it one day because your fight will prevail, and you’ll have your homes and your mosques back again. Because your cause is right and God is on your side.

Zbigniew Brzezinski

The CIA trained the mujahideen in many of the tactics Al Qaeda is known for today, such as car bombs, assassinations and other acts that would be considered terrorism today.

  1. Al Gored says:

After watching today’s OBL coverage, this whole story is starting to smell worse by the minute.

The spin is over the top. They are trying to portray Obama as some courageous super-hero for ordering this while launching a campaign to attempt to make sure OBL will not be the martry that he is bound to be.

OBL was in a “mansion.” Attempt to alienate him from the ‘common folk.’

OBL was ‘hiding behind women.’ Ditto, plus cowardice.

We already buried OBL at sea. So convenient. No freezer burns.

If this was a used car, I wouldn’t be buying it.

Next week they will find the missing heat.

Of course, then Osama was fighting the Soviet Union. Polictics sometimes makes for strange bedfellows.

    • Al Gored says:

No kidding. I always loved that photo of Rummy with Saddam.

    • It's always Marcia, Marcia says:

The United States was allied with Bin Laden then because of Truman doctrine about the Russians. Bin Laden did beat the Russians but would not have without the shoulder held missles supplied by the United States for shooting down Russian helichopters.

      Andy,

Hey you started a thread where I agree with what everyone says!
The problem comes with what we do with the bedfellows after they accomplish what we supported them for.

  3. PJB says:

If you are surprised by any of this, you need to review the past 200 years of US history as it relates to foreign incursions and military activity.

(Not to say that the US is any different than any other “expansionist” regime. It is what they do.)
