I see a pattern as to (1) who started Anthropogenic Climate Change, (2) who designed the Perfect Green Business Plan and (3) how the Democratic Party is an easy gullible ally to all that.

(2) The “Green Plan” is a German Business Plan. It may not seem so in the US or Canada, where people blame it on “leftists” or do-gooders, but here in Europe it looks, feels, smells and sounds 90% Germanic; with a few European allies to make it more palatable:

There is a German mega-project called “Desertec”; the modern, peaceful(?) Unternehmen Sonnenblume, or Operation Sunflower, of 1941 fame. There is an excellent description of it in http://www.ecofascism.com/article22.html
(3) The role of the Democrats. This is a difficult one to “prove” except that most Climate Change Hype happens during Democratic Administrations (that is how I found your article); are most Siemens infrastructure contracts awarded during Democratic Administrations? Good lobbying? Hmmm… in the quasi-bankrupt country in which I reside, Siemens (the major Green purveyor) has been using much simpler and cruder “marketing” techniques.
(I cannot possibly have anything to do with “oil interests” where I am writing from, we have no oil over here)
The move did cost Millions of jobs and started the Train Wreck we are living now!
The NAFTA pushed thru congress with Clinton greasing the skids really killed the US manufacturing base. That was another cause of our Train Wreck and turning over our sovereignty to China.
