The Hathaway bullshit juggernaut drives on, undeterred….
Less sunspots? It must be our fault. Better pay some more taxes.
reminds me of “here i sit broken hearted ……”
SMILE! 🙂
To be fair to David Hathaway, he has issued a “mea culpa” over his failed predictions, and acknowledged that his previous theories were wrong :

That puts him way out in front of any climate scientist in my book.
Leif Svalgaard also claimed on WUWT that satellite insurers were lobbying for an inflated sunspot prediction to justify their raising premiums……..
except for this kind of little tidbit from that npr interview i would be willing to cut him some slack …..
Dr. HATHAWAY: “The best analyses I’ve seen suggest that the sun’s still a minor player, that it’s really the anthropogenic forcing that’s overwhelming things now, and that even if the sun did go into one of these long, extended periods of no activity, it wouldn’t save us from global warming.”
Why would the sun affect the weather? Don’t be ridiculous.
