Cedar Rapids, Iowa — Democratic senator Max Baucus is retiring because he is “fed up” with the Affordable Care Act, according to his Republican colleague Chuck Grassley. Speaking at Friday night’s Lincoln Day dinner in Iowa, Grassley told the audience the Montana senator is leaving office ”because he’s so fed up with the possibility of the implementation of Obamacare being a train wreck.” Baucus, the chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, played a key role in writing the 2010 law.

Yes, I remember Baucus was the key. But how many democrats do?
I think Grassley was speculating, or maybe joking. I don’t think Baucus has actually said that he’s fed up or worried about a train wreck w/r/t ObamaCare. (He should, but I don’t think Baucus is that smart.)
@daveburton Here is just one of the reports about Baucus calling the ACA a train wreck. http://missoulian.com/news/local/baucus-sees-huge-train-wreck-for-obama-health-reform/article_167564b4-a784-11e2-928d-001a4bcf887a.html
Here’s a simple idea:
Pass a law (or hide it in another one ;)) that politicians must personally read each bill in its entirety before they can vote in approval of the bill, or they forfeit their position in office. That should cut down 1000+ page omnibus bills in a hurry (or cut down on Congressmen in office).
It would be fantastic to make Congressmen criminals for voting on bills they haven’t read and don’t understand, by having them vote on a bill they haven’t read.
Wonderful idea Anthony. But most of them arre only capable of reading their pay checks!
