Vehicle could burn coal, convert it into electricity, charge batteries with the electricity, and then run off clean battery powered energy.

…and a carbon capture device on the exhaust would convert the CO2 and H2O back into coal allowing it to run forever without refueling… a perfect closed system… sustainability at its finest.
