Oh yeah, it’s so obvious how much more snow the top colour photo has. I hope those two ladies managed to make it to safety through all that snow.

Te “Clean Up” crews are doing a real good job of keeping up with the snow fall in NYC! 😉

I am quite skeptical of these highly inflated “unofficial” totals. We had the same thing during our 2010 “Snowmaggedon”, reports of 40″ near Laurel, MD when the official total at Reagan National was 18″.

I was at both places the same day after the storm and I could not see any noticable difference.

    context, people:
“New York City and Philadelphia are just two of the communities across the mid-Atlantic that broke daily snowfall records on Wednesday. For a more elite group that includes New York City, this month is now the snowiest January in history….

The recent storm total snowfall in New York City was 19.0 inches. The 12.3 inches that fell alone on Wednesday broke the day’s long-standing snowfall record of 9 inches from 1871.

The storm also pushed the month’s snow total to 36.0 inches in New York City. That makes this January the snowiest on record, bypassing January 1925 and its 27.4 inches.”

    And this morning…
“A little more than 11 inches fell in New York, but the city was “in great shape” and “dodged a bullet,” Mayor Michael Bloomberg said, predicting streets would be cleared by the end of the day. The New York region’s three major airports — LaGuardia, Kennedy and Newark, N.J. — were up and running again by late morning after shutting down the evening before.”

Climate is what Hansen, Mann, Gore, etc predict will happen. Weather is what actually happens.
