The problem with that paper is that it uses a now obsolete TSI reconstruction (Hoyt-Schatten) that exaggerates the variation. This is a problem for many papers that moot a significant solar-climate link and that’s why I’m sceptical of them. It’s also a serious problem for the various attribution studies that use it. But of course in those one can always go back and tweak the parameters.
So the cold winters are due to global warming after all.
Funny, Schmidt and Mann weren’t skeptical of them, until they realized that scientific research into possible natural causes doesn’t produce as much grant money as blaming it on man. Now all that Gavin is concerned with is what to do policy wise to affect the “problem”, which is right in line with what the people who supply the grant money are interested in. Hm.
Yeah thinking the sun has anything to do with climate is like thinking turning the cook-top dial to adjust the cooking heat.
When I want to reduce the heat whilst cooking a stew, I take some potatoes out of the stew. Everybody knows potatoes trap heat. But I’ll bet most of the denier fools frequenting this blog actually turn their cook-top dial down, duh!!!
“The problem with that paper is that it uses a now obsolete TSI reconstruction (Hoyt-Schatten) that exaggerates the variation. ”
Funny how that ‘exaggerated’ TSI variation was ‘re-adjusted’ to fit the science of the warmists.
And it was peer reviewed—Oppsy daisy.
