Great Lakes researchers predict record-low ice coverage – Great Lakes Now
Lake Erie ice cover now is close to 100%, which has only happened a few times in the past.

I’ve been monitoring ice cover on the lakes from January thru April for many years. Here is the website showing ice cover. It’s updated maybe 2x weekly.

I open the website same day every week and save the image. Ice cover has been quite extensive this year, well beyond recent years. As a lakeside resident the high ice coverage in the graph in 2014-2015 looks familiar. It’s been a very cold winter all over NA which includes the Great Lake region so we have lots more ice. For anyone named Watson, this is elementary! I guess CO2 has taken a vacation because it’s not doing its assigned task of trapping heat lately.
