“the science is absolutely certain”

On June 25, 2009, John Kerry said the Arctic would be ice-free by 2014.

You have sea ice which is melting at a rate that the Arctic Ocean now increasingly is exposed. In five years, scientists predict we will have the first ice-free Arctic summer,

His forecast didn’t do very well.

So in 2014 he announced that “the science” was absolutely certain.

“And let there be no doubt in anybody’s mind that the science is absolutely certain”

    And then he said …
” This is simple. Kids at the earliest age can understand this.” (Ten years ago)

Mummy, where do babies come from ? The stork flies overhead and delivers them…

‘Easy to understand’ is not always sufficient supporting evidence that the words speak the facts.

The ‘ten years before the planet dies’ story has manifested every decade in my lifetime, and I’ve got 5 decades of existential threat accumulating under my fingernails so far.

Lots of people have more than that.

All ten year threats have all been easy to understand, and ten years later, they’re all difficult to observe in reality.

We did a swell job !

It’s great we tell each other about the deadly hoax but that isn’t getting us anywhere. How do we get Bongino, Hannity, Levin, Trump, etc., to understand CO2 is NOT a pollutant, is NOT a greenhouse gas, and global warming is NOT scientifically based. The current conservative mantra accepts the global warming premise but contends ‘maybe burning hydrocarbons is killing the planet but it is too expensive to do anything about it”. We are ceding the argument to the scammers by not denouncing their premise and demanding the burning of as much hydrocarbon as possible to not only maintain a decent lifestyle but more importantly to sustain a healthy planet.

      Excellent point!
I stopped actively countering the climate cult after a couple years of working for sanity. Mainly because of the point you make: the Realist side is sort of pansies. Many high-profile Realists (with the exception of Tony Heller, Marc Morano and a couple others) dare not point out the Settled Science nonsense.

They didn’t coalesce to fight the EPA declaration of CO2 as a pollutant. Many of the most high-profile Realists (Anthony Watt, for example) seem to want to be accepted by the PC-Progs–with attempts to publish papers in the PC-Prog/Climate Scam academic journals.

Instead of continuing to reveal the foundational scams–“greenhouse gas”, “trapped heat,” etc.–they debate ever-finer points.

Tony’s doing a great job here, but he can’t do it alone.

He is being wasted. Need to figure out how to get his message out to the masses by some folks with stroke.

        • Kent Clizbe says:

The Climate Realists with budgets and support are terrified of Tony because he calls a scam “a scam.” He calls fraud “fraud,” and tells the truth.
They’re all scared to death of being the next Mark Steyn, spending 10 years worth of legal fees defending themselves against Mann & Company’s legal warfare.
If only oil companies, or other deep pockets, actually supported Realist efforts like the Climate Scammers claim they do.

        • willys36 says:

Funny you should mention oil companies. I am a retired 50-year petroleum engineer. I am extremely ashamed of the Society of Petroleum Engineers which should be educating the public about the truth. Instead, they hold conferences with technical papers about sequestering CO2, cutting down energy usage in petroleum production and refining operations (really a humorous concept!) and the like. If they really believe the tripe they are selling, their primary task should be putting their companies out of business.

        • Kent Clizbe says:

It’s fear of the PC-Progressive cancellation machine.
The momentum has been on the side of the Reality Deniers for a couple decades–since Al Gore’s Nobel.
But they’re being pushed back in several domains of our culture–DIE/Affirmative Action/LGBTQ/Climate Hysteria are all different sides of the same anti-Reality dice. And all sides, but the Climate crazies, Reality has been winning in the last year–court cases, Reality-based boycotts forcing companies to retract PC-Prog nonsense–Harley Davidson, for example.
It’s also Reality-Denier shareholder activists that get the big oil companies, as well as the PC-Prog hedge funds.
It is pitiful to see reality-based professions, like petroleum engineers, bowing to the climate fantasists. But they have to feed their families, don’t they?
