Scientists Say To Ignore What They Predicted Last Time

Does Antarctic sea ice growth negate climate change? Scientists say no

since scientists started making satellite observations in the late 1970s, they have watched winter sea ice around Antarctica swell slowly but indisputably, despite predictions that it should shrink.

Climate is a complicated thing. Understanding how these kinds of changes play out in different regions is tricky business.

Does Antarctic sea ice growth negate climate change? Scientists say no – LA Times

Their super-duper climate models got it backwards, because climate is a “complicated thing.” In other words, they have absolutely no clue WTF they are talking about.

  1. Do glaciers forming in Scotland refute it? Well no, nothing refutes it.

  2. 1957chev says:

They don’t have to tell us not to listen to their nonsense…..we had already figured that out….

But, but, they told us they had it figured out! That the Polar ice and the Great Lakes and the Polar bear were the canary in the coal mine. That canary just keeps evolving. What is it now?

    • mjc says:

I think that ‘grantfunding’ is the new endangered species of global warming…

      • Gail Combs says:

I sure hope you are correct. Also University funding of all types.

        • mjc says:

Grantfunding is one of those rare, very delicate beasties…a decrease in the rate of growth is definitely a sign of its near demise and an actual cut, of even $1 is its death rattle. With the current amount of rubbish being printed, one would think that they are expecting grantfunding to go belly up in November.

    • Andy DC says:

The canary merely changes its spots every year to fit whatever is happening.

    • Phil Jones says:

The Canary is alive and doing well….

All these predictions over the years… fear… Apocalypse. .. All failed predictions yet rather than be held accountable they get even more funding….

  4. MrX says:

It’s like they grandfathered in global warming and believe this to be a valid tactic.

  5. Phil Jones says:

Yep… someone needs to make a database of all these people with all their predictions. … hold them accountable… or as Progressives would do, shame them in Public …

    • mjc says:

You mean bring back the stocks or pillory and rotten tomatoes and cabbages?

      • rah says:

        Na, just pull their Tenure?

      • Gail Combs says:

        I have been collecting feathers….

        • rah says:

I know somebody that has an old tar bucket.

        • mjc says:

Pine tar was the favorite ‘tar’ of choice…it’s very sticky, not fatal, stings like hell on any open cuts (hmmm…), mildly antiseptic, stays flexible and only needs to be warmed a little.

          Plus it’s easy to make…

        • Gail Combs says:

I also have lots of pine trees….

        • philjourdan says:

White Pines are the worst for sap!

        • rah says:

Down that way are the trees from which turpentine comes. When the tree dies the sap flows to the trunk and concentrates there. The trunk lasts a long time in that sandy loam soil in Gail’s area and on down the coast into northern Florida. Once the tree sits for awhile that old concentrated sap kinda distills it’s self and the wood from those stumps are the best firestarters you can find. We called it “lighterknot”. But no matter what others call it If you can’t start a fire in that area from what you find in the woods even on a wet day then you’ll never be a woodsman. .

    The money quote:

“Sea ice is a case in point, Ironically, one of the possible reasons to get more ice is warming.”
Ted Maksym, a researcher at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!

  7. philjourdan says:

    You cannot disprove a religion.

  8. Justa Joe says:

    settled science

  9. Tom Harley says:

It’s a parallel universe, mirrored. Everything is opposite to the real world. Perhaps the super computers were reverse engineered.

  10. Warming causes increased sea ice? Very hard to believe. But a PAUSE in warming? How can a pause do that?

  11. But wait … I thought the “science was settled!”

  12. If warming causes cooling, then I’m going to unplug the refrigerator in order to save on the electricity bills.

  13. Dave N says:

“Climate is a complicated thing”, yet alarmists claim they know for sure what many different factors will be 90 years from now. If they cannot predict what will happen over a period of a few years, their folly will be multiplied many times over.
