  1. Gail Combs says:

National Geographic went over to the Dark Side years ago. Many have dropped their subscriptions as a result.

    • Hugh K says:

Dittos Gail. If not for doctors offices filled with bored patients and pubescent boys giggling over topless Amazon women, NG would not be viable.
Following the money — It is more important to the money-grabbers at NG that they tell the lib trust-funders what they want to hear at DC cocktail parties, rather than produce a truthful magazine. Without big-green’s money, I’m not sure NG would still be around in the internet age.

    • hifast says:

I am one of those who cancelled due to their preposterous stance.

  2. B.C. says:

Nat Geo’s pushing of the Glow Bull Worming agenda was precisely the reason I dropped my lifelong subscription many years ago. They went from a pretty good scientific/anthropological magazine to a Marxist propaganda mouthpiece very quickly. They, along with numerous other institutions in the West, are proof-positive that the Communist Manifesto was, indeed, a serious blueprint for the downfall of Western Civilization.

  3. National Pseudographic is on the same level as the National Enquirer now. Won’t allow it in my house, won’t allow it in my garbage can.

  4. Joseph says:

Chris Horner covers Borenstein and his antics in “Red Hot Lies”. How Borenstein still has a job after all the bs he’s spouted over the years is beyond me.

  5. Jimbo says:

    Could?

    National Geographic – 12 December 2007
“NASA climate scientist Jay Zwally said: “At this rate, the Arctic Ocean could be nearly ice-free at the end of summer by 2012, much faster than previous predictions.” ”

    =====================

    National Geographic News – 20 June 2008
North Pole May Be Ice-Free for First Time This Summer
“We’re actually projecting this year that the North Pole may be free of ice for the first time [in history],” David Barber, of the University of Manitoba, told National Geographic News aboard the C.C.G.S. Amundsen, a Canadian research icebreaker.

  6. Curt says:

Hey, what’s wrong with exponential extrapolation?…

  7. Andy DC says:

They need to leave predictions to the psychics and voodoo witch doctors. They could certainly do no worse.

  8. Byron says:

“The Arctic is screaming,” said Mark Serreze, senior scientist at the government’s snow and ice data center in Boulder, Colorado.
    ——————————————————————————————————
And when You’ve got the senior scientist anthropomorphising frozen water , what hope is there for a rational , calm , impartial and above all a scientific assesment of data to come out of said institution ?

  9. Streetcred says:

I’m predicting that the Arctic could be frozen solid with 5m ice by the end of 2015. My predictive methodology is superior to either Boringstein or Brown. My solid state traditional sangoma rolled the bones and this is what the bones demand.

  10. Dmh says:

It feels good to know why it didn’t happen as they predicted, while they’re totally baffled and have no clue of the cause of their failure.
It proves that arrogance and power mean nothing in comparison with true knowledge/science.
