Maryland Summer Nights Second Coldest On Record This Year

Nights have been cold here in Maryland this summer, the second coldest on record going back to 1895. I have been waiting for it to warm up in the mornings before I take the dogs out, with low temperatures near 50 degrees this week.

Afternoon temperatures have also been very cool, with the 4th lowest frequency of 90 degree days on record – just behind 2009.

When I was a kid, August was the warmest month. It was the month that meant “summer.” Now it’s just the month before Public School resumes. Seriously, I closed the windows last night.

We in SW Tennessee had a day in July that did not reach 70. The tomatoes have been crappy though. Our weather this summer hasn’t been much different than Nut Crick California but the fare is much cheaper.
Touched the upper 80’s today, very nice. Feels like early fall.
But what do I know. Giss prolly thinks it’s the hottest summer in a millllllllllllly-on years.
    Brrrrrr.

Funny how this cool summer has pretty much impacted a large portion of the US (at least most of it east of the Mississippi River) but you only see local/regional reporting of it.
