President Obama says that people who don’t believe snow is a thing of the past are flat earthers.
One of Obama’s flat earthers is Harrison Schmitt – the only scientist to have set foot on the moon.
Dr. Schmitt does not agree with the theory that human activity is responsible for global warming. He states that “human experience, geological data and history, and current cooling argue otherwise.” Schmitt is so ardent in this belief that in 2009 he resigned from the Planetary Society. [3] In his letter of resignation, Schmitt told the Planetary society that “’consensus,’ as many have said, merely represents the absence of definitive science. You know as well as I, the ‘global warming scare’ is being used as a political tool to increase government control over American lives, incomes and decision making. It has no place in the Society’s activities.”
It’s been many years since I let my membership in the Planetary Society lapse. I didn’t know they were pushing the global warming agenda, but if so, it’s just as well Dr. Schmitt left them.
Obama’s “Flat Earther” remark regarding people who don’t believe the global warming scare shows not only his ignorance, but once again, his arrogance. Not wise language for a president to use, but then neither was dropping the F-bomb at the press roast speech. Very unpresidential and undignified.

If you read the entire piece, it is all guilt by association (with other skeptics) on Dr Scmitt’s part, he is just another Exxon funded denialist according to Huffpo.

Not only is ‘Buzz’ Aldrin also an AGW flat earther (second man on the moon), this is what he does to Moon landing deniers;

There are an awful lot of distinguished sceintists that have not bought into this hogwash. You can hardly dismiss them all as “flat earthers”. I think that is getting very old and stale.
Thanks for posting this. I did not know that the only scientist to walk on the moon is a fellow ‘flat-earther’ geologist. With the exception of a few outliers, geologists in general understand the wide variations the climate has endured and see through the BS.
Agreed. I have come across a few fellow geologists that are AGW koolaid drinkers, but not many. Geology takes in many aspects of science, so we tend to have a broad view of the world, and thus see through the cloud of BS.
Harrison Schmitt is probably the astronaut I respect the most. His contribution to the Apollo mission was far greater than not being a flat earther.
BTW, I believe other Apollo astronauts have BS and MS science degrees, I would not say Schmitt was the only scientist to go to the moon.
He was the only scientist to walk on the moon
And the anti-science POTUS has the temerity to call this very qualified astrogeologist a ‘flat-earther’.
