Just an observation today here from my house. According to my thermometer it’s 74 degrees and it’s cloudy with a cool northeast wind. Why do I bring it up? Well the nws or noaa forecast for the day here was sunny and 89. I just looked at the current forecast and they say it’s CURRENTLY sunny and 87. I’d like to know why they are so far off? It seems like they can’t even predict weather a day ahead anymore.
It’s really 89 degrees … You just don’t know it…

I’m not saying he’s right (how can anyone trust the adjusted data) but remember that in addition to the 50 states there are also 12 months in a year and a good few years since 2010. Plenty of opportunity to claim 79 monthly records.
So if January was 40F instead of the normal 35F, it was a record “hot” month.
