Icebergs are not a risk if you have radar; unfortunately, the Titanic sank 30 years before radar was a practical device.
What a waste of research funds by Sheffield University – haven’t they got anything more serious to study?
Good point. My point, of course, is that there is more ice in the ocean now after a century of supposed runaway warming.
The Titantic went down in 1912. Remember also the record the hottest day anywhere on earth was in 1913, over a century ago. To reiterate a point many of us have made, after 101 years of out of control hockey stick warming, certainly new all time temperature records would have been set over and over again as we reached higher and higher temperature levels (with the hockey stick!). But no. The 1913 record (134°F in Death Valley CA) still stands. That’s one piece of data they can’t easily manipulate, the record for the hottest day ever.
They are trying to. It seems NOAA has ‘de-modernized’ the official Death Valley station to use older equipment to make a record more likely
