That is almost 6 months, for heavens sake! To have an 8 degree departure over a six month period is highly unusual, if not unprecedented. If we had a similar period with a plus 8 degree six month departure, there is no doubt that all kinds of end of the world proclamations would be drooling from the usual suspect’s lips.
Even worse they had to really fiddle with the temperatures at least in my nearby weather station.
Last year they added 2-4 °F to the data twenty four hours later. So when I checked in September we had a total of five days of 90 °F or above max. (one at 95 °F) When I checked this spring that number had miraculously changed to FIFTEEN days above 90 °F. So within six months they fiddled withe the data twice increasing the temperature both times.
It was so cold last summer that my white clover never died back. Something I have never seen in the twenty years I have lived here.
