Makes sense. 1901 anomaly was around zero. Assuming less heat to reject (1901 cold winter) caused diminished trades, which caused less heat to be swept away over land in summer by trades (hot 1901 summer), until buoyancy caused trade strength to be reestablished. Overshoot from low energy state / lag in process. Similar to 1936?
