Here is an actual quote from a member of Daily Kos. It’s hurts to see someone so incredibly blinded. It reeks of the kind of devotion that Manson was given who btw, along with his followers were environmentalist. They were trying to protect the redwood trees:

It’s difficult to read such a statement and realize they are lots of people with the same self-imposed embargo on reality.

Now when someone is lying, they are said to be pulling an “Obama”.
If there were a website dedicated to the truths spoken and campaign promises kept by Obama, the webmaster would be bone-idle and bored beyond belief.

For “normal people” it called living within your means. Don’t spend more than you make. Government apparently has never learned that. One has to wonder is this in normal in government officals everyday lives.
It’s not quite like that.
To a politician, long term planning extends only to the next election. Thus the congress critters are easily bought by the corporations making “contributions”/bribes to their campaign funds.
Politicians, with their short term outlooks, treat everything like a renter, not an owner. So they’ll happily bribe as much of the population as they can with other people’s money (tax revenues & borrowed funds) to buy votes for the next election.
The “political class” is a parasite class who are in office to grab as much loot for themselves and their supporters/”friends” as they can.
Not a pretty picture, yet when you look at the actions of out politicians from that (depressing/jaded) perspective, things seem to make a bit more sense.
