There is no question that global warming science is driven by politics. There certainly isn’t any actual science behind it.
The climate science DEBATE is driven by politics, as is the media promulgation of the “consensus” alarmism. The global warming science itself is driven by general scientific incompetence, and incompetence alone, among the supposed experts, lukewarmers and alarmists alike. There are no competent climate scientists, and there is no valid climate science–it is a failed science (unless and until they all accept the Venus/Earth temperatures comparison I did 3 years ago–and my interpretation of it–as the definitive correction to the current bad consensus theories). See my “Don’t Tell the Experts” post, for example, or “The True Situation in Climate Science” (both have links to the original Venus/Earth comparison I performed–and which any student of climate, or “expert”, could have done at any time in the last 20 years, but did not).
Do Wuebbles tried the same Venus comparison with me four years ago, and then had to admit that he was wrong to do so.
That would explain why skeptics were barred from authoring any chapters of AR5.
