Meteorological winter ended two weeks ago. This is called spring.
Although places like Australia follow that calendar, Germany still considers mid-March as Winter and 30 below in Munchen in Winter is as noteworthy as 110 degrees in Phoenix in Summer.

110 is four degrees above normal for Phoenix, and you say that is the equivalent to thirty degrees below normal in Germany
