December will average above normal over most of the US, but plenty of cold and snow on the way.
We have been 10-20 degrees below normal for almost a week.
Yeah yeah Steven – just remember, it’s only weather…….and when the snow continues all year and we go into another ice age, it will still only be weather.
My December will be -3C below normal approx….thus after a very warm start to the year, Jan through Aug were above normal, Oct,Nov,Dec will all be below normal…thus, for the year, .5C above the average, however, within the normal standard dev. for my climate station.
Nothing to see here…move along.
We were probably a touch above normal here in NH, but that’s because averages are made up of numbers that never vary at all.

I know I’m being selfish but I wish we in the UK could have some of that snow – I love it! The last couple of winters here were serious winters. Remember those aerial photographs of the entire British Isles covered with snow and ice and frost? So far this year it’s been pretty mild – with the occasional sub-zero night (at least where I am in Yorkshire, northern England). Still, there’re still a couple more months of winter left, and I still hope for a nice flurry of snow!
