  1. Sorry, but the reporter is nuts. Divide $5 million by 6000 homes and you find that each home was worth $833. Iowa has the least expensive housing in the country and the average home cost there is $229,000, followed closely by Oklahoma and Ohio at home costs of $235,000. California homes average $787,000 each. So 6,000 CA homes ought to be at least about $4.7 billion. The report lost a factor of 1,000.
