Ten Years Left To Save The Planet

“I do not wish to seem overdramatic, but 1 can only conclude from the information that is available to me as Secretary General, that the Members of the United Nations have perhaps ten years left in which to subordinate their ancient quarrels and launch a global partnership to curb the arms race, to improve the human environment, to defuse the population explosion, and to supply the required momentum to development efforts. If such a global partnership is not forged within the next decade, then I very much fear that the problems I have mentioned will have reached such staggering proportions that they will be beyond our capacity to control.”

Indeed; & 54 yrs later … almost everyone is still at each-others throats.

No one learns from history, so sadly it’s going to be Déjà vu all over again (:-(( )

  2. Hi!! I am in my mid 70’s and have enough money to move to the Canadian Border, and otherwise take care of myself. In 20 years or so, human cultures will pretty much be toast, as will the planet. At least that is the prediction of almost all serious studies of our situation. Temps 2 to 3 degrees celsius higher. While that does not sound like much — think droughts!!. More and more severe storms!! Do a search on these words: best educated guesses of temperature 2050. Here is a single typical result: https://news.climate.columbia.edu/2023/11/03/world-temperatures-will-blow-past-paris-goals-this-decade-asserts-new-study/

That will take us back to temperatures of the roman warm period & the Roman empire expanded with an abundance of food.

Was humanity wiped out ?? no (but no Romans have survived !! )

Do a search on these words:
      Roman empire expansion
      &
climate & decline of the Western Roman Empire.
