I’m gonna guess that you are moving the same direction as the freight, and the FT is passing your commuter train. 😉
of course the commuter could be stopped and the cameraman bobbing up and down to create an illusion. Or the freight stopped… there’s simply no way to tell whether the frame of reference is moving and which way? I see five possibilities: 1&2 either train could be stationary but not both, 3 Both moving to the right but Freight is faster, 4 Both moving left but commuter is faster, 5 Both moving in opposite directions. I’m with the ‘not enough information’ [Nobama] crowd. Most likely is that the commuter train is leftbound passing a stopped freight to merge back onto the track ahead of it, But I’ve personally experienced all five possibilities I listed above.
Everything’s relative.
Like our country. When it’s movement to the left slows, the Left says it’s moving to the right.
… its movement, dammit …
Thanks for knowing the difference. So few do anymore. Of course, this iPad has a will of its own and always tries to second guess me. I have to remember to read everything again to see what ridiculous supposition it has made about what I intended. Maddening!
My dad says the spell check was designed by a leftist liberal…they always believe they know what you should say better than you do. 😜
I’m thinking of changing my moniker to it’s = it is. The rules are simple, but seeing this error (and others) repeatedly convinces people that inaccurate usage is correct and accepted.
Towards its destination?
Yes, but it will never get there.

I could see the illusion with another train. But then it passed a concrete structure. You got me!!! 🙂
Or maybe you are considering the spin of the earth, you know, like the AGW spin 🙂
Or dah, maybe someone else is taking a picture of the train you are one—the other train?
As long as it is your decision which way to move .

To the left, and there is nothing you can do bout it.
The same direction as the engine is moving.
The correct answer is: Not enough information to determine this.
The direction your train is moving is forward, comrade.
