The DC area had a very odd white Christmas during 1965. High temperature of 70, followed by a thunderstorm and enough hail to cover the ground in places. I was out of the golf course when that took place.
DC is having an odd Christmas this year. I just drove by the National Christmas Tree a couple of hours ago, and the lights were off! I guess we are saving money to fund Skeeter’s Hawaiian winter solstice holiday.
Interestingly, a whole bunch of new high temp records were set the past few days, replacing records in quite a few cases which occurred in the 1960’s and 1970’s, during the period when the “consensus” was that the Earth might be heading towards a new ice age. It was certainly a period of cooling temps.
I do enjoy how so many in the media are touting the high temp records, while they avoided mention of all the new low temp records from a month ago.
Who is Bette Midler blaming for that?
