The interesting thing this time round, is that together with the dropping NH temperatures occurring each year, is that NH ice is increasing pretty dramatically. I would not be surprised to see it reach 0 anomaly and above quite soon, Check out DMI ice extent today. Antarctica ice is increasing at a highly significant rate and its not letting go there is no doubt that we are looking at an increasing trend there (see Cryophere today) Its looking more and more likely that we are entering a Dalton minimum type situation
That pink in the east is going away this weekend. Highs in the 30s. We have not been this cold this soon in at least 4 years! Weird! /sarc
Abrupt climate change due to global warming.
If that sounds like nonsense to you it’s because you are not a warmist. To a warmist it’s obvious.
The anomaly is actually above average in the New York City and Washington DC areas. Since that is the center of the real universe, this is proof that global warming is real and devastating.
Back around New Year’s, 1988-89, in Boulder it never got above -17°F (-27°C) for at least 4 days.
I checked the records. February 3/4 1989 never got about -5F in Boulder. Only thing even close.
Coldest maximum in Boulder history was -12 on February 4, 1989.
New record snow in Grand Junction for this date. Old record was set in 1941. Six inches here south of town.
